Nectarine Blueberry Crisp Recipe

Now that summer is here and the summer fruits are in season, here is a delicious nectarine blueberry crisp that tastes incredible. The crunchiness of the crisp topping is amazing and the two different fruits compliment each other in this homemade fruit crisp recipe.

Nectarine Blueberry Crisp is loaded with fresh, ripe nectarines, plump blueberries and has a crunchy crisp topping.

Loaded with delicious ripe nectarines and plump little blueberries, this nectarine blueberry crisp is a family favorite at our house. The juices of the combined fruit tastes so good and then when mixed with the crunchiness of the topping, oh man, DELICIOUS!

Nectarine Blueberry Crisp is full of deliciously ripe nectarines and blueberries.

How To Make Nectarine Blueberry Crisp

  • Preheat oven to 400° and lightly spray a 13 x 9 baking dish.

Nectarine Blueberry Crisp is a perfect summer dessert, loaded with blueberries and nectarines.

How To Make Crisp Topping

  • In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together flour and brown sugar.
  • Add 1 cup of butter (I cut the butter into small pieces which makes crumbling easier).
  • Using a pastry cutter, cut butter into mix until crumbly or using a mixer, mix on low speed until crumbly.

Nectarine Blueberry Crisp is a delicious fruit dessert with a crunchy crisp topping.

How To Make The Nectarine Blueberry Filling

  • In a small bowl, whisk sugar, salt, nutmeg, cinnamon and corn starch together, set aside.
  • Rinse blueberries and nectarines, slice each nectarines into 8 slices, add fruit and orange juice to large mixing bowl.
  • Sprinkle sugar mixture over fruit and stir until fruit is well coated.
  • Pour nectarine/blueberry mixture into the prepared baking dish.
  • Add the remaining 1/4 cup butter (thinly sliced) and just place on top of the fruit mixture randomly.
  • Add the flour mixture on top of the fruit and spread evenly.
  • Bake uncovered at 400° for 50 minutes, give or take a few minutes.
  • Remove from oven and serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.

Ingredients
  

For The Crisp Topping

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup oatmeal
  • 1 1/4 cups butter, divided (2 1/2 sticks)

For The Nectarine Blueberry Topping

  • 8 nectarines, sliced, no need to peel
  • 3 cups blueberries
  • 2 Tbsp orange juice
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 Tbsp corn starch
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 400° and lightly spray a 13 x 9 baking dish.

  • Add 1 cup of butter into flour mixture (cut the cold butter into small pieces. Makes it easier to crumble), and using a pastry cutter or a fork, or two knives, mix until crumbly.

  • In a small bowl, whisk sugar, salt, nutmeg, cinnamon and corn starch together, set aside.
