Looking for the best Instant Pot White Rice recipe, you are in luck. You are going to love the ease and simplicity of making rice in the Instant Pot. In only a few minutes, you can have perfectly tender, fluffy, delicious rice.

What is the Instant Pot Rice to Water Ratio

When you are making Instant Pot Rice, you want the water to rice ratio of one to one. But when you are making rice in the Instant Pot, you need to use at least 1 cup of water regardless pretty much with any rice recipe.

Why is my Instant Pot Rice Sticky

The main reason that rice made in the Instant Pot is sticky is because there is not enough water. I always try to err on the side of too little water than too much. Once the pressure cooker is done and pressure is released, you can always check to see if it needs more water but you can not take water away.

How to Store Cooked Rice

Make sure to keep the cooked rice in the refrigerator. You want to wait until the rice has cooled and then move it to an airtight container. Then keep the rice in the refrigerator. It will stay good for up to 5 days when stored properly.

How to Reheat Rice

When you are reheating rice, you want to cook as small of an amount as possible. This will give the best results. Place the rice in either a microwave safe bowl or in a sauce pan with a little water, broth or vegetable oil. Heat the rice until it is hot.

What Can I Add to My Instant Pot Rice for a Simple Dinner

A bowl of rice can be a filling side dish but it can also be the start of a very simple dinner. Add leftovers to your rice and you have dinner made in no time. Add things like leftover cooked chicken, ground beef, or diced ham. Toss in last night’s veggies or this morning’s eggs. With a few ingredients and this simple Instant Pot Rice becomes a meal.

Another great thing about making this rice as a meal is that it is also easy to change the flavor of the rice. You can add different seasonings to create different flavors. Simply changing the liquid used to cook the rice can make a difference. Add chicken broth, beef broth or even vegetable broth in the Instant Pot and see how it changes the flavor.

How Long to Cook Rice in the Instant Pot

I like to use the rice button on my Instant Pot when I am making rice. It is designed to cook rice to perfection. After the timer goes off on the rice setting, allow a 10 minute natural release before opening the pressure cooker.

Great Ways to Use Instant Pot Rice

There are so many recipes using this Instant Pot rice recipe that can be made. Make one pot and use the rice in a few recipes over the week. Some of my favorite recipes with cooked rice are:

  • Teriyaki Meatballs
  • Crock Pot Boneless Pot
  • Orange Teriyaki Chicken
  • Garlic Lime Steak Bites

Ingredients Needed

  • White rice
  • Water
  • Vegetable oil

How To Cook Rice Perfectly In The Instant Pot

Start out by adding rice, water and oil to the Instant Pot and stir. Cover and lock the lid. Choose the “sealing” position and press the “rice” setting. Once done, allow natural pressure release for 10 minutes then quick release, if needed. Remove the lid, fluff the rice with a fork and enjoy. That’s it.
