Ingredients

- 1 cup fresh blueberries
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 teaspoons lemon juice

- 1½ cups butter
- 5 cups powdered sugar
- ¾ cup blueberry sauce, approximately (use all of the blueberry sauce made)

- In a small saucepan, add fresh blueberries, sugar, lemon juice, and cornstarch.
- Heat over medium heat, and cook until the blueberries have burst and the sauce has thickened, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and let cool.
Buttercream Frosting
- Beat the butter until it is light and creamy.
- Gently add the powdered sugar and beat until well blended.
- Next, add all of the blueberry sauce once it has cooled completely.
- Beat until well combined.
