One bite of this Strawberry Cream Cheese Danish and you’re going to be able to think about nothing else. Not only is it beautiful to look at, but it’s full of a creamy, sweet taste, too. Loaded with cream cheese and strawberry, this is a delicious and easy way to start your morning.

And, if there is ever a recipe that makes the morning time better, this is it. Its warmth and sweetness in every bite are enough to have you jump out of bed and rush down to grab a piece. This is one of those recipes that you create memories with and save it for special occasions like Christmas, Easter, or even Sunday mornings when everyone is calm and collected as a family.

When it comes to the perfect breakfast or brunch recipe, it really just doesn’t get much better than this.

Why is it called a Danish?

The name Danish actually originated from the bakery workers going on strike back in 1850. It was called Vienna Bread by the Danes, but to us, we call it Danish.

How do you eat Danish?

The easiest way to eat a Danish pastry is to cut it into pieces and then enjoy eating it with your fingers or with a fork. It all really depends on the manners that you want to have, but both ways are actually perfectly acceptable.

How long do Danish pastries last?

As long as you store it properly in the fridge, it should last up to 7 days without issues. But I highly doubt it will make it that long…it’s just way too good to let sit there without eating!

How many layers does a Danish pastry have?

While this isn’t true for this dessert, a typical made-from-scratch Danish Pastry will have anywhere from 40-ish to 60-ish layers! This just proves how much love and work go into making a homemade Danish from scratch. Since we’re using premade pastry sheets for this recipe, we’re skipping that step and saving you some time.

Can you freeze a Danish?

You sure can! If it’s uncooked, you can make it up and freeze it for up to 6 weeks. Then when you’re ready to bake it, you just add to the oven to cook.

If you’re wanting to freeze it after you’ve already baked it, just make certain that it’s wrapped up well and added to a freezer-proof container or bag. It should be good for up to 1 month in your freezer this way.

Can you use frozen strawberries for this recipe?

The best is to use fresh strawberries. The frozen ones will work, but as they thaw, they’re going to just start to release a whole bunch of liquid so you will need to add more corn starch to thicken it up. If not, it will cause the crust to become soggy and it just might ruin the entire outcome. Nobody has time for that, right?

Fresh strawberries are the way to go. Plus, if you make this during the spring and summer months, you just might be able to use some fresh strawberries straight from your garden as well! Talk about a sweet way to get an even sweeter taste!

Homemade Strawberry Cream Cheese Danish

There’s nothing better than homemade! Making this homemade strawberry danish at home not only tastes better than store bought, but using fresh ingredients, like fresh strawberries, always makes everything taste better.

What other filling ideas could you use for this Danish recipe?

Apples would be great, so would blueberries or even peaches, too. Just make certain that you’re using fresh fruit and not frozen!

Have fun creating this Strawberry Cream Cheese Danish. It’s not a hard recipe to do at all but it does require your time and effort. Making this up for your family and friends is a great way to show them that you were thinking about them and they’re going to be so grateful for your efforts!

Sharing food with the ones that you love is the perfect way to spread kindness and cheer!
