With summer in full swing, and all the delicious summer fruits available, I decided to make a delicious, homemade, fresh peach cobbler. I have made quite a few peach cobblers in my day but this one is a bit different. It’s mostly organic for starters. I try to use the healthiest ingredients and this tastes just as good as the other delicious cobblers out there. A perfect summer dessert, this made from scratch fresh peach cobbler is packed full of fresh, juicy, ripe peaches then topped with a delicious cake-like, crunchy topping.
Homemade Peach Cobbler
The smell right now in my kitchen is unbelievable as this delicious homemade peach cobbler is baking. The mixture of the peaches, with the cinnamon and the juices, smell SO GOOD! I’m surprising my man with one of his favorites desserts. I don’t know how much of a surprise it’s going to be with this smell permeating all over the house.
Southern Peach Cobbler
When you make this, it’s best to use fresh peaches. Just peel, remove the pits and slice the peaches to the desired thickness. I sliced my peaches about ¼-1/2 inch wide. Once this fresh peach cobbler is done baking, and is still warm, make sure to add a scoop of ice cream on top. We use the dairy-free vanilla ice cream, which tastes great! So whatever your choice, dairy-free or regular ice cream, make sure to add it to this fresh peach cobbler. A classic Southern peach cobbler recipe perfect for the summer season.
Easy Peach Cobbler
This cobbler is super easy to make and the smell of this cobbler baking reminds me of fall, which is right around the corner. Fall is my favorite time of year for baking. All the delicious desserts that are made during the fall are always a favorite. I cannot wait to start baking all sorts of delicious fall desserts. But in the meantime, how about baking your family a delicious fresh peach cobbler? And… this is still considered vegan. You won’t even believe it. Yay! im trying yours today—looks like plenty of juice, not dry like the others i have tried
Hi Warren, I hope your cobbler turned out wonderful and juicy! :)
Hi there your recipe looks absolutely delicious I’m planning on making it for thanksgiving next week It will be my first time ever making it I’ll let you know how it turns out :-)
Hi Justine, can’t wait to hear how your cobbler turns out! Happy Thanksgiving! :)
Cold butter, right?
Hi Sally, Yes, cold butter! :)
Tastes delicious, but I agree that 425 is way too high for 35 minutes. I live in high altitude so generally I have to bake 25 degrees higher than a recipe instructs, so I tried it at 425. Took it out after 25-30 minutes and the top is a lot more browned than I would have liked. Next time, trying 375. But, as I said, it is delicious and will may again. Thanks for the recipe!!
I agree, I live in Northern Colorado and pulled mine out of the oven 9 min early.
Hi there, I unfortunately bought a box of peaches from Costco that turned out mealy (I know, very disappointing!) but do you think I could make this recipe with mealy peaches or will it taste off? I’m trying to think of ways to still eat them, would hate to throw out!
Hi Danna, yes that is disappointing! That happens to me more often than I’d like. It’s worth a try since you have the peaches anyways. Let me know how it turns out if you do decide to use them. :)
Awesome! I used the fresh frozen peaches, I substituted splenda for sugar (my husband is diabetic). My only mistake was not having enough peaches, so next time I will use two bags instead of one. Otherwise, the hubby loved it! Thank you for sharing!
Hi Rhonda, I’m so glad your hubby loved the peach cobbler! Thank you so much for sharing! I love and appreciate all comments! :)
This peach cobbler recipe was by far THEE BEST Cobbler recipe I have ever tasted!!! We topped it with some organic whip cream!! MMmmmmm…. the crust was. PUR-FECT!! ABSOLUTE. Perfect! My kids had seconds, or maybe thirds… I lost count. But the entire pan of cobbler was devoured! Thanks for posting ! I will have to try some of your other recipes.
Hi DEE-LICIOUS, I’m SO glad you loved this cobbler! I agree, it’s the best I’ve ever had too! I hope you do try some of my other recipes! Thanks so much for sharing! :)
How many servings does this recipe make?
Is a stick equal to 1/4 cup or 1/2 a cup??
Hi Deanna, it’s equal to 1/2 cup.
I love any kind of cobbler with lots of syrup and yours looks like it has exactly what I like. Next time I get some peaches its your recipe I want to make.
That’s awesome Beth! I’m like you, the juicier, the better! :)
425 degrees is way too hot. It burned the top of the cobbler. This is for a reunion, so it’s important for my dessert to look presentable. Remaking it now and set the oven at 350. I did taste the first one and even though it’s ugly, it does taste delicious!
Hi Barefootmom, humm, I’m not sure why that happened. I just made this again a couple weeks ago at the same temperature and it turned out fine. Sorry it didn’t work the first time, but I’m glad it tasty delicious. Hopefully you were still able to eat the first one! :)
350 worked perfect. The first one I made, I used the large granulated sugar crystals. That may be why it burned? I made this again last night using the same recipe, but with apples. (I baked the apples alone at 425, the lowered the oven to 350 after adding the topping.) I love the crunch of the topping. I’m not a fan of cobblers that have the soft, cake-like topping. This is my new go-to cobbler recipe!
I agree. At 425 I could only bake it for 20min. I was watching it cause I thought that seemed too high. It was delicious. We had it for breakfast with ice cream.
You could understand my disappointment, when I went into my kitchen to make this and my peaches where gone. Sigh. BUT I did have a bowl of pears. So, I used 6 pears and 2 C. of blueberries. No lemon, so used a lime. Turned out delicious. Hubby even when for seconds. Thank you for the recipe.
Hi Darcy, oh that’s awesome you still managed to make yourself a cobbler even though it wasn’t peach! Thanks for sharing! :)
The ingredient list states baking powder but the instructions state baking soda. Can you please clarify?
Hi Deanna, it is baking powder. Thank you for letting me know about the typo! It is now corrected. :)
Looks amazing, Terri! I love peach cobbler, and I can imagine how good your kitchen smells. :)
Hi Linda, I know you can! ;)
I need to get over to your blog! I have a lot of commenting to do! :)
Wow, Terri!! This looks spectacular. I love peaches, and your cobbler sound delicious. Thank you for sharing this. :)
Hi Christy! I’m like you, I love peaches too! Thank you so much for the wonderful comment! You are soooo nice! :)
