Crock Pot BBQ Beef Brisket
This delicious cut of beef turns out super tender in the crock pot and is great to use in many different recipes. Today we smothered this crock pot BBQ beef brisket in barbecue sauce, after pan searing first, then let the crock pot do the rest! Wholly molly, I’m talking delicious!
Seriously, the crock pot is one of the handiest appliances in the kitchen. I have quite a few but my newest crock pot is an 8 quart beast! So much space available for large cuts of meat like this 4.5 lb beef brisket.
First off, get a large frying pan or cast iron pan, add oil and heat to medium/high. Rub salt and pepper all over the meat and once the oil has heated up, sear all sides of brisket, which helps hold in the delicious flavor. Once seared, add to crock pot (fat side up). Next, add the garlic and barbecue sauce. Cover and cook for 8 hours on high, or 10-12 hours on low. Once meat has finished cooking and is tender, start shredding right in the crock pot. My brisket had a lot a fat on it so I tried to remove most of the fat prior to shredding.
My whole purpose for making this brisket is to use this delicious beef in my BBQ Brisket tacos that I’ll post next on the blog. They are delicious! Make sure to check back for that scrumptious recipe.
Some many different recipes can be made from one of these delicious cuts of beef. The BBQ Brisket sliders we had for lunch were delish!
