This brisket tacos recipe is absolutely delicious and a perfect way to use leftover brisket. These tacos are loaded with tender beef brisket, cheese, fried onion strings, and drizzled with barbecue sauce. Definitely, a favorite taco recipe that always gets rave reviews.

If you love beef tacos, then I have a recipe that you’re going to adore. These delicious beef tacos are made with leftover beef brisket! Here in Texas, tacos and brisket are two biggies when it comes to food. It’s hard to say which one we love more – barbecue or Tex-Mex. This recipe combines the two into one amazing dish that is absolutely full of flavor. I’ve been making this recipe for years with my leftover beef brisket. It’s a great way to use up all that delicious beef in a recipe that really lets it be the star of the show. I and my family love this one, and I think you will, too, after you try it.

Brisket Tacos

This recipe takes leftover brisket and combines it with barbecue sauce, cheddar cheese, and crispy fried onion strings and wraps them all up in a soft, flour tortilla. Every bite is a delicious fusion of barbecue and tacos that makes a great dish for weeknight meals, backyard barbecues, and more. This has been a long-time recipe for me, and I can say from experience that it’s always a big hit with everyone.

How to Store and Reheat Leftover Brisket Tacos

The filling for these tacos can be stored in an airtight container for 1 to 3 days, depending on how long your brisket was already stored. A maximum of 4 days total is recommended. To reheat the brisket, place it in a saucepot and heat it over medium-low heat until heated through. Never store the brisket taco filling inside the tortillas.

How to Make Brisket Tacos

Making this recipe is just as simple as the ingredient list. In just 3 steps, you’ll have delicious brisket tacos!

Step 1: Make the Brisket Taco Filling

Add the leftover brisket, barbecue sauce, and beef broth to a small saucepan, stir, and cook over medium heat until heated through. Use a fork to shred it, if needed.

Step 2: Heat the Tortillas

While the brisket is cooking, heat the flour tortillas in a frying pan, or a skillet, over medium heat, turning frequently with tongs.

Step 3: Construct the Tacos

Add the shredded brisket to the tortillas, then, sprinkle with cheese, drizzle with barbecue sauce, and top again with crispy onion strings, if desired. You can also squeeze lime juice on top to enhance the flavors of the taco.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups leftover beef brisket
  • ⅓ cup barbecue sauce
  • ¼ cup beef broth
  • 1-2 cups Sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 6 flour tortillas, fajita size

Instructions
 

  • In a small saucepan, over medium heat, add leftover brisket, barbecue sauce and beef broth. Cook until heated through, stirring frequently.
