How to Make Sour Cream Apple Pie

Sour Cream Apple Pie
For the Apple Filling
- 2-3 Granny Smith apples peeled, sliced 1/4″ thick
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 tablespoon flour
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 egg beaten
- ½ cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 Pillsbury® pie crust
For the Topping
- ⅔ cup all purpose flour
- ⅓ cup sugar
- ¼ cup butter
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Preheat oven to 350° and place pie crust onto a baking sheet. Poke the bottom of the pie shell 4 or 5 times with a fork.
For the Apple Filling
- In a medium bowl, mix all ingredients except apples
- Pour into a prepared pie shell.
- Peel and slice apples and arrange slices evenly on top of filling.
- Bake for 15 minutes, then remove from oven.
For the Topping
- In a small bowl, mix all ingredients with a fork or pastry blender until crumbly.
- Sprinkle crumble topping evenly on top of apples and bake for 30-40 minutes until set.
- Remove from oven, place on a wire rack and cool completely. Cover and refrigerate. Best serve cold.
