BBQ Tri Tip Steaks

Over the weekend, we fired up the grill at 8:45 am and started grilling a few of our favorite cuts of meat. These BBQ tri tip steaks are one of the delicious things we barbecued first thing in the morning! The neighbors probably thought we were crazy firing up the grill so early but trust me, I’m sure they were enjoying the aroma of these delicious steaks.

BBQ Tri Tip Steaks

I’m such a lover of tip tip roasts. I couldn’t tell you how many roasts I have in my freezers. Yep, I said freezers. I have 2 refrigerators and a deep freeze that are full of all kinds of meat. Anyways, on this weekend morning, we decided tri tip steaks were one of the items on the menu.

All I did was take a roast and cut it into 1 inch steaks. I actually divided up the steaks and made half with barbecue sauce and the other half with a dry rub (which I had some leftover from my dry rub BBQ pork ribs). Both so delicious! I’ll post the dry rub tri tip steaks recipe at a later time.

So Delicious

Some say “you don’t put barbecue sauce on tri tip” but let me tell you how amazing these taste with barbecue sauce. For those who don’t believe in putting BBQ sauce on this delicious cut of meat, you NEED to try it! Seriously, so delicious. I have been using barbecue sauce on my tri tip forever and will continue to because it’s that delicious!

Just look at that bite above. Definitely mouthwatering, delicious and so full of flavor. Season the steaks with garlic salt and pepper then smother each steak in your favorite barbecue sauce. Slap ’em on the grill and in no time you too will be enjoying these tasty BBQ tri tip steaks.

I get tri tip roasts marinated and vacuum sealed from a butcher. Excellent with out a thing added! I save the marinade, mix in red wine & beef consume, heat to boiling and add a pat of butter.
