Barbecue season is right around the corner and corn on the cob is the perfect side to make with ribs, pulled pork, steak and chicken. This corn on the cob is so incredibly easy that you can just put it in the air fryer, turn it half way through and focus your attention on the main dish. My family loves corn on the cob and we have eaten it grilled, boiled, and cooked in the oven. Making corn on the cob in the air fryer changes the game of air fried vegetables.

Air Fryer Corn on the Cob

This recipe is one that you will turn to every time you go to make corn because it is that easy. Frozen corn on the cob in the air fryer gives it a nice crispy outer layer, but the kernels are still tender. Cooking corn on the cob this way makes it healthier because they aren’t saturated in butter while cooking.

Air Fryer Tips and Variations

This recipe is super easy, but here are some tips that might make it a little easier.

  • Spray a small amount of oil in the basket or on the racks to keep food from sticking.
  • Halfway through cooking, flip corn over to cook evenly on both sides.

If you prefer, you can use fresh corn or sweet corn to change up the taste and flavor.

Also, you can brush the corn with a little bit of olive oil and sprinkle with seasonings before you cook it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some commonly asked questions about cooking this easy air fryer corn.

How Does an Air Fryer Work?

Air Fryers either come as basket air fryers or conventional oven air fryers. When you place your food in the air fryer and turn it on, hot air rushes in and circulates around the food. This makes the food crispy without having to deep fry it in oil.

What is the Best Way to Cook Corn?

Grilling corn creates a rich and deep flavor, while boiling it makes it tender and juicy. Air frying corn on the cob gives it the best of both grilling and boiling, giving it a rich flavor, but keeps it tender and juicy.

Will Corn on the Cob Pop in the Air Fryer?

No. Corn on the cob and pop corn kernels both react differently to heat. While popcorn kernels pop when heat is added, corn on the cob will get cooked, creating a grilled appearance and taste.

What is the Most Popular Food Cooked in the Air Fryer?

French Fries are the number one food that is cooked in the air fryer. Cooking them in the air fryer makes them crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. It also is healthier than deep-frying them.

Can You Put Aluminum Foil in the Air Fryer?

Yes! Aluminum foil helps catch any drippings or mess while you’re cooking to keep the air fryer clean. You can also use aluminum containers in the air fryer as well. The only advice I would give is to not place loose foil over food while cooking in the air fryer. This can cause damage to the fryer.

How Long Will the Leftover Corn on the Cob Last in the Fridge?

Cooked corn on the cob will last 3 to 5 days in the refrigerator, as long as it’s properly stored. It stores best in an air-tight container or heavy duty ziplock bag. Cooked corn on the cob can also be frozen. To freeze it, place in a covered airtight container or freezer bag. It can last up to 10 months in the freezer.

How to Store and Reheat

Store cooked corn on the cob in an airtight container or ziplock bag and place in the refrigerator for 3-5 days.

To reheat, preheat the air fryer to 350 degrees. Cover corn in butter, wrap in foil, and place in the air fryer. Cook for 3 to 4 minutes or until heated thoroughly.

Lightly spray the air fryer basket with non-stick cooking spray.

Step 2: Cook the Corn

Place frozen ears of corn in a single layer, not overcrowding the basket. Air fry at 390 degrees for 10-12 minutes, turning halfway through.

Hi Loretta, this is how I would do it. Remove the husk and silks from the corn. Rinse, dry, and rub each ear of corn with melted butter or vegetable oil. Air fry at 370 for 12-15 minutes turning halfway through. :)
