- Coleslaw
- Mac and cheese

Can you use any pork for pulled pork?
Not really. Pulled pork is more than just pork that you pull apart. It has to be melt-in-your-mouth tender. Otherwise, it’s just tough strings. Pork shoulder is the ideal cut for pulled pork. It has the best fat to lean meat ratio to produce a ton of tender, melty meat.
How do you pull pork?
Let your pork shoulder cool until you’re able to handle it. Don’t let it get too cool. Then, using two forks or two shredding claws, begin pulling the pork away from the bone and breaking it up. If you cooked it low and slow, you’ll find that it naturally pulls apart into tender, stringy goodness.
How to Store and Freeze Leftover Pulled Pork
You can store your leftover pulled pork in the refrigerator in an air-tight container for up to 4 days. For longer storage, you can freeze it for up to 6 months. Place the pulled pork in a heavy-duty freezer bag and press out as much air as possible.
Never store the completed tacos. The tortilla and other ingredients will get soggy from the BBQ pork. Instead, make as many tacos as your family and friends will eat in one sitting and then store the remaining pulled pork in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Store the other ingredients in separate containers.
