These soft and buttery breast cancer sugar cookies are more than just a sweet treat. They're a simple and meaningful way to show support, raise awareness, celebrate survivors, and honor loved ones.

Baking with Purpose: Sweet Comfort and Real Hope

There is something deeply comforting about a classic sugar cookie, especially when it’s loaded with bright pink sprinkles and baked with a purpose. I created these breast cancer sugar cookies as a sweet tribute to strength, resilience, and the power of community. Whether you’re baking a batch for a local benefit, bringing a tray to a friend walking through treatment, or simply spreading a little love during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, these tender, sprinkled-filled cookies are a beautiful way to bring people together around the table.

Made with classic sugar cookie ingredients and plenty of pink sprinkles, these cookies are soft in the center, slightly crisp around the edges, and absolutely perfect for bake sales, fundraisers, care packages, parties, or community events.

If you love cookies as much as I do, then you’ll also want to try my other themed treats, like easy Halloween cookies, Christmas sugar cookies, or St. Patrick’s Day cookies. They’re so good, you’ll make them any time of year!

Key Ingredients

You’ll find the full list of ingredients and their exact amounts in the recipe card at the bottom of the post.

A wood surface with all the ingredients placed on it to make breast cancer sugar cookies.
  • Butter: Gives the cookies that rich, soft, melt-in-your-mouth texture.
  • Vanilla Extract: Adds that warm bakery-style flavor that makes simple sugar cookies taste extra comforting.
  • Corn Syrup: A little secret weapon for softer cookies. It helps keep them chewy and gives them a smoother texture.
  • Pink Candy Sprinkles: They add crunch, color, and that classic celebration-cookie vibe while honoring breast cancer survivors and research.

Variations

  • Frosted Sugar Cookies: Top the cookies with pink buttercream frosting for breast cancer awareness frosted sugar cookies.
  • More Sprinkles: Use pink, white, and pearl sprinkles for added texture and color.
  • Ribbon Sugar Cookies: Use a breast cancer ribbon cookie cutter.
  • Chocolate Chips: Add white chocolate chips for a sweet, creamy addition.

How to Make Breast Cancer Sugar Cookies

A wood surface with a glass bowl filled with the wet cookie ingredients for sugar cookies before being mixed together.

Step 1: Beat the butter and sugar until creamy. Then, beat in the remaining wet ingredients.

Step 2: Whisk the dry ingredients and mix them into the wet ingredients until just combined. Fold in the sprinkles.

A parchment lined baking sheet with nine sugar cookie dough balls on it before being baked.

Step 3: Use a 1-inch cookie scoop to place rounded dough balls onto a prepared cookie sheet. Gently press each ball down and add more sprinkles.

A white surface with a couple dozen breast cancer sugar cookies placed all over the surface with pink candy sprinkles scattered about.

Step 4: Bake until the edges begin to turn golden. Then, remove the cookies and let them cool for a couple of minutes on the baking sheet. Finally, transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely, then enjoy!

Expert Tips

  • Don’t overbake the cookies. They’ll be slightly soft in the center when you remove them from the oven, but they'll continue setting as they cool.
  • Softened butter creates the perfect creamy cookie dough texture.
  • If your dough feels too soft, refrigerate it for 20-30 minutes before baking.

Behind the Recipe: A Story of Warriors and Healing

This recipe is extra special to my heart because it isn’t just about baking. It’s about celebrating a life changing journey. I recently had the absolute honor of hosting my former surgeon, Dr. Loren Rourke, along with three of the extraordinary warriors in my home. We are four of the five “warriors” featured in Dr. Rourke’s incredible new book, Real Talk, Real Hope. Sitting down together in my kitchen, sharing stories, and reflecting on how far we’ve all come was a powerful reminder that no one ever has to walk through a diagnosis alone.
