Chocolate Frosted Sugar Cookies

Are you a chocolate lover? Do you love soft and chewy cookies? If so, here are some delicious chocolate frosted sugar cookies that are so soft and chewy, and the frosting…. totally creamy and one of my favorite chocolate frostings ever!

Chocolate Frosted Sugar Cookies are soft and chewy, frosted with chocolate frosting and sprinkles on top.

This is one recipe that you might want to double from the get-go. Especially if you love chocolate cookies frosted with chocolate frosting with chocolate chips added. Triple chocolate cookies that are to die for.

Chocolate Buttercream Frosting

Biting into one of these cookies, and the fact that they are frosted with a delicious chocolate buttercream frosting and have chocolate chips in every bite, just make for one delicious cookie recipe everyone is going to love.

Chocolate Frosted Sugar Cookies are a family favorite cookie recipe, with chocolate frosting, chocolate chips and sprinkles.

Chewy Chocolate Cookies

And one of the reasons we love these cookies so much is that they are thick, soft and chewy. Definitely one that everyone will be talking about because of how soft they are. So bring a dozen or two to your next family gathering or get together and you will see exactly what I’m talking about.

How Do You Store These Chocolate Frosted Sugar Cookies

After the cookies have cooled completely, frost each cookie and add candied sprinkles. Let set to harden the frosting a bit and then make sure to store them in an air tight container in the fridge. You can add a layer of waxed paper in between the layers when storing. There might not be any left because they are so delicious, but in case there are, this is how I store ours.

Ingredients Needed To Make Chocolate Frosted Cookies

  • Butter
  • Chocolate instant pudding mix

  • Egg
  • Chocolate chips
  • Cocoa powder

(Actual measurements are in the recipe card below.)

How To Make Chocolate Frosted Sugar Cookies

  1. Start out by whisking together the flour, baking powder and salt in a medium bowl. Set aside.
  2. Using an electric mixer or a stand mixer, beat room temperature butter, pudding mix and sugar together in a large bowl until light and fluffy.
  3. Next, add the egg and milk and beat until smooth.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients into pudding mixture and mix well.
  5. Stir chocolate chips into dough. I find the little chocolate chips work well in this recipe too. Even mini M & Ms would be fun too!
  6. Divide the dough in half and then roll each piece of dough (on a lightly floured surface) into about a 6 inch long roll.
  7. Then wrap in plastic wrap and place in the fridge for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  8. Slice cookies into 1/2 inch slices and place on an ungreased baking sheet and bake for 9-10 minutes.
  9. Remove from oven and let the cookies cool for a couple minutes on baking sheet before transferring the cookies to a wire rack to cool completely.

How To Make Chocolate Frosting

  2. Gradually add half of the powdered sugar and half of the milk into bowl and beat, then add remaining powdered sugar and milk and beat until combined.
