Copycat Cheeseburger Macaroni Recipe

Making this copycat cheeseburger macaroni from scratch and in your own kitchen is the best. Growing up we ate the cheeseburger macaroni in the box all the time. Well not anymore. Making a homemade hamburger helper is so much better then the boxed version and taste so good. And if you love pasta and ground beef together, you are going to love this delicious cheeseburger macaroni. Our family sure does love this recipe.

Homemade Cheeseburger Macaroni is full of delicious flavor, is easy to make and loaded with ground beef, cheese and pasta.

Ground beef mixed with pasta and cheese equals comfort food at its best. Throw in some sour cream and you’ve just taken this dish to a whole new level. So delicious! I’ve actually included sour cream in the recipe but if you are not a fan, totally omit it and it’s just as scrumptious as ever.

Can I Use Different Types Of Cheese In Cheeseburger Macaroni?

Absolutely! If you like spicy, add some Pepper Jack or a more spicier cheese like Habanero. And if you like a sharper cheddar, use that type of cheese. Colby Jack is also a good alternative. My only suggestion is to freshly shred the cheese. I rarely ever buy pre-shredded cheese. It does not melt the same, and freshly shredded cheddar cheese tastes so much better. However, if you are in a pinch and a hurry, by all means, use what is easiest for you and your family.

Can I Use Ground Turkey Instead of Ground Beef In This Cheeseburger Macaroni?

Yes, of course. Ground turkey would make this a healthier version, and diced tomatoes and even a green or red bell pepper would be a great addition too. If you use ground turkey, you can use chicken broth instead of beef broth.
