Who doesn’t love chocolate chip cookies? I usually make my chocolate chip cookies a bit differently but thought I’d give these a try and I’m sure glad I did. These definitely are delicious! So full of chocolate and nuts and a must for cookie lovers.

Chocolate Chip Cookies

I was visiting my sister-in-law Cheryl last week and while I was there, we started talking food! Cheryl has a lot of recipes from both my grandmothers, so we started looking through her recipe box.

Chocolate Chip Cookies

I have been wanting to make my Grandma Anne’s poor mans cake so she pulled out that recipe for me, plus surprised me with my own loaf of this delicious cake.  So, as we were searching the well used recipe box for other treasures, we ran across all sorts of great recipes. This chocolate chip cookie recipe was one that I just had to make!

Chocolate Chip Cookies

This cookie recipe was from an article in a news paper telling the story about the infamous $250 cookie story. Apparently a lady wanted to buy a cookie recipe over the phone (from a very well known cookie maker), they told her it would cost “two fifty.” When she checked her bill, she had been charged $250 for the recipe. She could not get it removed and then proceeded to share the recipe everywhere since they would not credit her the money back. I tried looking up the story from the source but was unsuccessful. I’m not sure what newspaper this came from but it was written by Joycelyn Winnecke from the Scripps Howard News Service.

Chocolate Chip Cookies

This recipe makes a lot of cookies. I made mine a little bit larger than the directions say, and still ended up with 80 cookies.
