Ingredients

Instructions

  • In a large cast-iron skillet or frying pan, cook bacon until very crispy.
  • Remove bacon and place on a plate lined with paper towels to absorb excess grease, and drain grease from the pan.
  • In a small saucepan add ½ cup of brown sugar and raspberries.
  • Cook for 5 minutes, stirring frequently, then remove from heat.
  • Add onions and jalapenos to the cast-iron skillet and cook on low until onions are translucent.
  • Add minced garlic and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes or until fragrant.
  • Add all remaining ingredients to the pan.
  • Reduce to low for 30-40 minutes or until sauce is a little thicker than maple syrup.
  • Add pepper to taste.

Notes

Tips
  • Let the bacon cool before crumbling. It will break apart more easily, and you won't burn yourself!
  • Stir your onion and garlic mixture continuously as you cook to keep the garlic from burning.
  • Stir your sauce occasionally as it simmers to prevent sticking and scorching.
  • Wash your hands thoroughly and NEVER touch your face when handling hot peppers.
