Crock Pot BBQ Beef Brisket

  • 4-5 lb beef brisket
  • 1 large onion chopped
  • 6 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 1/2 cups barbecue sauce
  • 2 Tbs vegetable oil
  • Salt and pepper


  1. In a large frying pan or cast iron pan, heat oil over medium/high heat.
  2. Rub brisket with salt and pepper and sear until all sides are brown.
  3. In a 6-8 quart crock pot, add chopped onions.
  4. Place brisket on top of onions.
  5. Add garlic and pour barbecue sauce over the top of the meat.
  6. Cover and cook for 8 hrs on high, 10-12 hours on low.
