Apple Cranberry Filling

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400°

Crisp Topping

  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour and brown sugar.
  • Add 1 cup of butter and mix on low speed until crumbly.
  • Stir in chopped pecans. Set aside.

Apple Cranberry Filling

  • In a medium bowl, whisk sugar, salt, and cinnamon together. Set aside.
  • Rinse cranberries and add to a large bowl, add apples and pecans.
  • Stir in sugar mixture and gently mix until cranberries, apples, and pecans are coated well.
  • Pour fruit mixture into a 9 x 13 inch baking dish, and add sliced butter randomly over the top of the fruit.
  • Add the flour mixture on top of the fruit and spread evenly.
  • Bake uncovered at 400° for 45-55 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.

Notes

  • Spray your baking dish with just enough nonstick spray to evenly coat it. You don't want it to pool at the bottom of the dish.
  • Keep your butter cold before mixing it into the crisp topping. It will make the texture so much better.
  • Be sure you really pack the brown sugar down into the measuring cup for a nice, sweet topping.
