Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350° and spray a Bundt pan with a non stick spray right before filling.

For The Orange Bundt Cake

  • Whisk together flour and baking powder in a medium bowl.
  • Beat butter and sugar together until creamy then add eggs and beat until light and fluffy.
  • Pour buttermilk, vanilla, orange extract and orange zest into sugar mixture and beat until combined.
  • Gradually add flour and mix until just combined and then add food coloring. Stir.
  • Pour into prepared Bundt pan and bake for 50-60 minutes or until tooth pick inserted comes out clean.
  • Carefully remove from oven and let sit for about 5-6 minutes then turn over on wire rack to cool.

For The Cream Cheese Buttercream Frosting

  • Beat cream cheese, butter and vanilla together.
  • Add 1½ cups of powdered sugar at a time, mix well, then add the remaining 1½ cups. Mix well and then frost cake once completely cooled.

*To make homemade buttermilk, add 1 tablespoon of fresh lemon juice into a measuring cup then add milk to equal 1 cup. 
*If you do not have orange food coloring, add equal drops of red and yellow food coloring to make orange.
