Pecan Pie Bars

For The Buttery Shortbread Crust

  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 cup butter

For The Pecan Pie Topping

  • 5 eggs
  • 1 cup dark corn syrup
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 2 cups chopped pecan


  1. Preheat oven to 350°

For The Buttery Shortbread Crust

  1. In a medium mixing bowl, combine flour and brown sugar together.

  2. Using a pastry cutter, add butter and cut mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.

  3. Press mixture into a 13 x 9 inch baking pan, bake for 12-15 minutes, then remove from oven.

For The Pecan Pie Topping

  1. While crust is in the oven, blend eggs, corn syrup, sugar, vanilla and salt until well combined.

  2. Stir in pecans and pour pecan mixture over crust.

  3. Reduce temperature to 275° and bake for 50 minutes until filling is set.

  4. Cool on wire rack. Once cool, cut into bars.
