Homemade English Muffins

These homemade English muffins are super easy to make and tastes incredible. The perfect addition to your morning breakfast.

Instructions

  • Whisk together warm milk, yeast, and sugar. Let bloom for 5 minutes.
  • In a large bowl, add flour and salt.
  • Add in sugar, yeast, milk mixture, melted butter and egg. Mix until dough forms.
  • Shape dough into a tight ball and place in a greased bowl. Cover with a dish towel or plastic wrap and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  • Punch down the dough and divide into 12 pieces.
  • Shape dough pieces into balls and place onto a baking sheet dusted with cornmeal. Dust tops of balls with cornmeal. Let rest for 10 minutes.
  • Take one dough ball at a time and dust with cornmeal then flatten.
  • Place in a cast iron pan over low-medium heat and cook for 3-5 minutes on each side.
  • Next, add back to baking sheet and bake for 7-10 minutes at 350°.
