Snickerdoodle Cookies

For The Snickerdoodles

  • 2 3/4 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 tsp cream of tartar
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 large egg + 1 yolk

For The Coating

  • 3 Tbsp sugar
  • 3 tsp cinnamon


  1. Preheat oven to 400° and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.

  2. In a medium bowl, whisk flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt together. Set aside.

  3. In a large bowl, beat butter and sugars together until creamy.

  4. Add egg and yolk, beat until combined.

  5. Gradually add flour mixture into sugar mixture beat after each addition until combined.

  6. Using a teaspoon, drop rounded 1" ball into cinnamon sugar mixture to coat then place on prepared baking sheet.

  7. Bake for 7 minutes, remove from oven, let cookies sit on baking sheet for 5 minutes then transfer to wire rack.
