Maple Pecan Sweet Potatoes

  • 4 large sweet potatoes
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 Tbsp pure maple syrup (plus more to taste)
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 Tbsp chopped pecans (plus more for topping)
  • Oil for brushing


  1. Preheat oven to 400°

  2. Lay sweet potatoes on a baking sheet and poke all over with a fork.

  3. Brush with oil, then bake for 45 minutes.

  4. Remove from oven, cut a wedge in the top of each potato, scrape out the insides.

  5. In a large bowl, mash together potato, brown sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon, maple syrup, milk, and pecans with two forks or a pastry cutter.

  6. Re-stuff potatoes, top with a little more pecans, and bake again for 20 minutes.

  7. Drizzle with maple syrup and serve.
