Beer Battered Onion Rings

Tender rings on the inside with a crispy, crunchy coating on the outside, these beer battered onion rings are golden brown and absolutely delicious. An easy appetizer, side dish or snack everyone will enjoy.

Ingredients

  • 2 large onions, peel, slice into half inch slices, separating the rings
  • 1 cup tempura mix
  • ¾ cup beer
  • 2 teaspoon Slap Ya Mama seasoning
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt
  • Vegetable oil, for frying

Instructions

  • Heat oil over medium high heat in a large pot or dutch oven.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk the dry ingredients together then slowly add the beer, stirring until smooth.
  • Dip each onion ring into the batter and gently add a few at a time into the hot oil.
  • Cook until golden brown, about 4-5 minutes, depending on how hot your oil is.
  • Remove with a slotted spoon and place on a plate lined with paper towels to absorb any excess oil.
  • Continue cooking until all the batter is used.
  • Enjoy with your favorite dipping sauce.
