What Is The Best Bread To Use For Garlic Cheese Bread
For this recipe you can use a loaf of French bread, cut into thin or thick slices. Another option is to use Texas Toast. Many of the bakery style breads will taste amazing. Sourdough is also a good bread that works well with this cheese bread recipe.
How to Store Homemade Cheesy Garlic Bread
When you make this garlic cheese bread it will always taste best when it is fresh from the oven. That doesn’t mean that you can not store leftovers. Once the bread as cooled, place it in an airtight container in the refrigerator. I would use a freezer bag, but you can use whatever you have. It will last up to 3 days in the refrigerator. When you are ready to reheat it, bake it for a few minutes in the oven.
Can Garlic Cheese Bread Be Frozen
A lot of people like to make the store bought frozen garlic cheese bread. If you do not want to have the store bought bread, which is loaded with preservatives and doesn’t taste nearly as good as homemade, you can make the bread and freeze it. This lets you have it on hand all the time. In order to freeze the cheese bread, you want to follow the recipe up until the baking step. Lay each piece on a plate or cookie sheet and freeze it. Once the bread is frozen, so the cheese stays in place, wrap each slice individually and then store them in a freezer bag. Then once you are ready to enjoy some of this deliciousness, remove the desired number of pieces from the freezer and let it thaw. Then bake as normal.
This cheese bread will last about 6 months in the freezer. By wrapping the slices individually, this will help to prevent freezer burn and all you to take out is as many slices as you want without needing to take out the entire batch.
