Hi I’m Terri. I’m a self taught cook/foodie at heart, mom to three kids, photographer and have a love for amazing food and simply love being in my kitchen. I have a wonderful boyfriend who supports everything I do. How is it that I can dirty almost every pan in the house and he continually helps clean up my disaster every weekend. He’s such a keeper.
During my “day job” I’m a Hospice Admissions RN. I work so many hours during the week that the only time I can get into the kitchen is on the weekend. Once Friday night gets here, it’s all about what to cook, what to develop, what to post, etc. Seriously, there are not enough hours in the day for all that needs to get done during the weekend. Once Monday morning gets here, it’s time to get back to being there for my patients, their families, and my co-workers. It’s a really tough job but so rewarding as well. By rewarding I mean, being able to make a difference in our patients and their families. It’s hard to explain what it’s like to be a hospice RN but if any of you have worked with hospice patients, you know exactly what I’m talking about.
I’m also a lover of photography. Taking beautiful pictures has always been something I’ve loved since high school. It wasn’t until about 3 years ago that food photography became a passion of mine.
My youngest daughter, Halie, helps me in the kitchen often. She’s in her 2nd year of college and wants to become an RN as well and wants to continue enhancing her cooking/baking skills. Both are awesome careers.
We are so excited that you are here and hope that you stay awhile and look around at all of our recipes! We love to share great tasting recipes with all of you. Some of our recipes have been in the family for many, many years.
My family and I had changed our diet to a whole foods/plant-based lifestyle last year, after living all my life on junk food, processed food, dairy, meat and sweets. However, after 6 months, we changed our eating habits back to include cheese and became vegetarians. Now it’s back to good ol’ grub! We do try to limit our intake of meat, dairy and sugar, but my recipes will be made to include all types of recipes and boy do my co-workers love getting all the food we don’t eat! Come Monday mornings, I’m always bringing recipes for the staff.
Also I wanted to share something else with you. My niece, Holli, who is a pastry chef, actually won Hell’s Kitchen Season 7. So proud!
